I'm a husband, father, friend, and pastor.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas into a great Christian Family. My mom is from Houston, Texas my Dad from Monterrey, Mexico. I have a sister one year younger than I and twin brothers seven years younger than I.
I gave my life to Christ when I was 15 years old. It would take another 10 for me to accept God's invitation to be a pastor.
I graduated from South Houston High School where I was an average student, played football, ran track, and dated as many cheerleaders as would go out with me (I didn't date much).
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. It's one of my proudest accomplishments, even though I never really used it.
I graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas with a Master of Divinity.
I graduated from The George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University in Waco, Texas with a Doctor of Ministry.
I have pastored two churches: Corpus Christ Baptist Church (1993-1999), and Calvary Baptist Church in McAllen, Texas (1999-present). Both churches have been pure joy to pastor. The Christians in these churches are some of the most wonderful people I have ever known. They have always treated me and my family with the utmost respect and love.
I met my wife, Priscilla, while in Seminary. She is a graduate of Baylor University. We were married on August 3, 1991. She is now an educator in the McAllen School District. I have 3 children: Gabriel (13), Michael (8), and Celeste (7).
I now spend most of my days praying, reading, writing, ministering to the hurting, and talking to the great spiritual leaders in my church. Every once in a while I get to play golf.
My Family, My Friends, Reading, Baseball, and Golf, in that order.
